‎The Associated Press confirmed that the pair were getting married on Friday at Madison Square Garden after several days of widespread speculation.
‎Security preparations were noticeable around the venue, with police saying they had been informed of a possible surge in crowds. Roads surrounding Madison Square Garden were closed as equipment was delivered ahead of the ceremony. Reports throughout the week said the guest list would include nearly 1,000 attendees, along with performances from Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw.
‎The wedding follows the couple's engagement announcement on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025. Swift and Kelce revealed the news by sharing a photo of Kelce proposing in a massive flower garden. Their caption read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” Another image showcased Swift's large diamond engagement ring.
‎According to the report, the ring was created by jewelry designer Kindred Lubeck and Artifex Fine Jewelry. Kelce reportedly worked with Lubeck on its design, incorporating old mine and rectangle cut diamonds with antique references.
‎Before announcing their engagement, Swift joined Kelce and his brother Jason on the football podcast “New Heights” to reveal her album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” The appearance generated 13 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, the highest ever for a podcast, while 1.3 million viewers watched simultaneously upon release, earning a Guinness World Record.
‎Kelce later spoke publicly about his relationship with Swift during a GQ cover story, marking the first time he addressed it with a major publication.
‎“I hadn’t experienced somebody in the same shoes as me, having a partner who understands the scrutiny, understands the ups and downs of being in front of millions,” he told GQ. “That was very relatable, seeing how exhausted she would get after shows. She may not think of herself as an athlete. She will never tell anyone that she is an athlete. But I’ve seen what she goes through. I’ve seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it’s mind-blowing.”
