Netflix Renews Tyler Perry’s 'Beauty in Black' for Season 4 as Bellarie Family Saga Continues
Netflix has renewed Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black for a fourth season, giving fans of the popular drama another chapter in the Bellarie family saga before Season 3 has even premiered.
The surprise renewal comes ahead of the debut of Season 3, which is expected to arrive later this year. When Netflix announced the Season 3 renewal in December, it was believed that the upcoming season would serve as the final installment of the Bellarie family story.

That will no longer be the case, as creator, producer, writer and director Tyler Perry confirmed that the story has much more left to explore.
“Beauty in Black is back for season four and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished,” said series creator, producer, writer and director Tyler Perry in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum. “There was so much more I wanted to explore and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story. To the audience that has been on this ride with us from day one, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world. More episodes are on the way!”
The Season 4 renewal follows the strong performance of Beauty in Black on Netflix. According to the streamer, the show's first season remained in Netflix’s Global Top 10 for seven weeks and reached No. 1 in 28 countries.
Season 2 also performed strongly, spending six weeks in the Global Top 10 and reaching the No. 1 position in 17 countries.
The drama has also maintained a steady release schedule since its debut in October 2024. Unlike other streaming dramas that can have lengthy gaps between seasons, Beauty in Black has continued to deliver new episodes. Season 2 was released in two parts, with the second part premiering in March 2026.
So far, the series has released 32 episodes.
While Netflix has confirmed that Season 4 is coming, additional details about the fourth season will be announced at a later date. There is also still no update on the exact release date for Season 3. However, with the fourth season now officially confirmed, fans may not have to wait much longer to see Kimmie and Mallory return to their screens.
The Season 3 storyline is set to push the drama even further, according to its official logline: “Kimmie finally has a seat at the Bellarie table, but when a deadly family feud erupts, she’s forced into an uneasy alliance with Mallory. Together, they navigate a ruthless world of blackmail, revenge, and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of its own, threatening to bring the entire empire crashing down.”
The main cast for the next season includes Taylor Polidore Williams, Crystle Stewart, Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan.
With Season 3 still awaiting its release and Season 4 already renewed, the story of the Bellarie family is officially continuing beyond what was once expected to be its final chapter.
