‎The new season will mark Burgess’ first appearance on the series in five years. Her most recent season was season 30 in 2021, when she was partnered with her fiancé Brian Austin Green.
‎Burgess has a long history with the competition. She has competed in 14 seasons of Dancing and famously won season 27 alongside Bobby Brown. Her return had been widely speculated in recent months after she took part in several Dancing-related events and appearances, including DWTS Con.
‎With Burgess now confirmed, she becomes the second professional dancer from season 35 to be officially announced. Witney Carson was confirmed last Monday as another professional competitor for the upcoming season, with the announcement also revealing that she is pregnant.
‎Carson's announcement also included the news that her celebrity partner will be Guillermo Rodriguez.
‎The complete celebrity lineup for season 35 has not yet been announced. The full cast is scheduled to be revealed on GMA on Sept. 2.
‎So far, Summer House star Ciara Miller, Love Island and The Traitors star Maura Higgins, Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson and Rodriguez have been announced as members of the cast, while rumors about additional casting have increased heavily over the past week.
‎Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars will begin with a double premiere on Sept. 15 and 16.
