Despite the growing speculation, neither Swift nor her longtime publicist, Tree Paine, has issued an official statement or confirmed that the wedding will take place within the next 48 hours. Still, online reports claim the ceremony is scheduled for Friday at Madison Square Garden, where as many as 1,000 guests are expected.
According to those reports, the event is being coordinated by creative event planner Mark Seed and his team. Here's what is known about the highly private planner.
A Wedding Planner Trusted by Celebrities
Mark Seed has reportedly overseen several high-profile celebrity weddings over the years. Various online reports say he and his team planned Jennifer Lawrence's 2019 wedding to Cooke Maroney at the Belcourt of Newport mansion in Rhode Island, as well as Billie Lourd's 2022 beach wedding to Austen Rydell in Cabo San Lucas.
One of Seed's most notable connections to Swift is his work on the 2023 wedding of her longtime collaborator and close friend Jack Antonoff, who married actress Margaret Qualley in New Jersey. Swift reportedly attended the celebration alongside celebrities including Channing Tatum, Zoe Kravitz, Cara Delevingne and Lana Del Rey.
A Reputation for Keeping Things Private
Seed maintains an unusually limited public profile. He does not appear to showcase his celebrity clients on social media, and no Instagram account associated with him could be found. His professional website consists only of a landing page displaying a logo and an email address.
He is also listed as a Creative Event Planner on the clientele roster for Exposure NY, a company that represents photographers, stylists, set designers, visual artists, event designers and other creative professionals.
Per Page Six, “He is renowned for never, ever talking about his clients.”
NBC News also reported that invited guests were required to sign non-disclosure agreements during the invitation process and were informed that the wedding would follow a strict no-phones policy.
"He's Basically a Genius"
Actress and producer Sam Ressler worked with Mark Seed for her 2022 wedding to Jason Borg of Terrace Group Holdings, with Vogue covering the celebration. Ressler revealed that both she and her sister chose Seed to plan their weddings.
“We didn’t want a long engagement,” she told the mag of the event, which was planned in only 12 weeks to take place at her parents’ L.A. home. “My sister got married there in September of 2020, and we both worked with event planner Mark Seed. He made everything so easy, fun, and seamless. He’s basically a genius and has the chillest energy. He’s also incapable of panic. He can right-size any problem and can put things in perspective. He really gets that this should just be a celebration of love and a fun experience to plan.”
Although Ressler has experience organizing productions and live events through her company, We The Women, she still relied on Seed to bring her wedding vision to life.
“Mark is so creative, and it was genuinely so much fun coming up with ideas together and his execution of my vision was beyond my wildest expectations,” she told Vogue.
Known for Creating Spectacular Custom Spaces
Reports suggest guests at the reported Swift-Kelce wedding will not simply be seated inside Madison Square Garden overlooking the basketball court. Instead, various reports claim a custom-built structure and garden are being constructed inside the venue.
Seed has experience creating large-scale custom installations. For Ressler's wedding, he built a greenhouse on the lawn of her parents' Los Angeles home, contributing to his reputation for ambitious event designs.
As one source told Page Six, “He can build something spectacular out of nothing.”
