‎Why Megan Thee Stallion Ended Her Relationship With Klay Thompson After Nearly a Year

‎Megan Thee Stallion has confirmed the end of her relationship with Klay Thompson after nearly a year together, saying she now needs time for herself.
‎In a statement to Page Six, she explained, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward.” She added, “I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”

‎The announcement followed a blunt social media post in which Megan accused Thompson of cheating. She wrote, “Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” before continuing, “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season. Now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’????”
‎She concluded the message by stating, “Bitch I need a REAL break after this one.. bye y’all.”
‎Just months earlier, the couple appeared to be thriving. In February, the “Mamushi” rapper revealed that Thompson had spent heavily on her 31st birthday, gifting her a luxury getaway and a Bentley reportedly worth $200,000.
‎Sharing moments from their trip to the British Virgin Islands on Instagram, she captioned the post, “Aw man I was not ready for this birthday trip to be over 🥹 A time was definitely had🏝️🍹🥳 THANK YOU BABY⚓️.” That post has since been deleted.
‎Their relationship had also hinted at a deeper commitment. In October, the pair suggested they had purchased a home together.
‎The romance first drew attention in July when fans spotted Thompson in the background of one of Megan’s social media posts. Later that month, they made their red carpet debut at her inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala.
‎At the time, Megan spoke highly of Thompson, saying, “I have never dated somebody so kind.” She added, “This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.” She continued, “I just never dated somebody like him before and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me.”
