First Image From 'Dune: Part Three' Shows Timothée Chalamet’s Changed Paul Atreides
Timothée Chalamet has unveiled a striking first-look photo from the upcoming film Dune: Part Three, confirming the official title of the next chapter in the sci-fi series.

The image features Chalamet in his role as Paul Atreides. It focuses tightly on his eyes while he wears a Fremen stillsuit. In the photo, the character appears noticeably altered compared with his appearance in the earlier films, showing wrinkles around his eyes along with visible red scars.

The reveal arrives ahead of the movie’s trailer, which is expected to debut later this week. The preview is anticipated to appear alongside the upcoming film Project Hail Mary.
Director Denis Villeneuve is once again leading the production for Warner Bros.. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026.
Villeneuve has previously indicated that this installment will mark the end of his involvement with the Dune franchise. He has also explained that he does not view the three films strictly as a traditional trilogy. Speaking in an interview with Vanity Fair, he described the first two films as essentially a pair designed to adapt the original book. According to the director, that adaptation is now complete. He added that if a third film were made, it would aim to stand apart with its own identity rather than function as a conventional trilogy entry.
Several actors return for the new installment, including Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh and Anya Taylor-Joy, all reprising their roles from the second film. Jason Momoa also returns after appearing in the first film but not in Part Two. Additionally, Robert Pattinson has joined the cast.

The earlier entries in the franchise, Dune and Dune: Part Two, have together generated about $1.1 billion in box office revenue worldwide.
