Corey Lewandowski Says ICE Will Be Present at 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show Featuring Bad Bunny

‎Corey Lewandowski, former campaign manager and longtime advisor to Donald Trump, stated during a recent appearance on The Benny Show that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will be enforcing immigration laws at the 2026 Super Bowl. The event is scheduled to feature Bad Bunny as the headlining performer during the Apple Music Halftime Show.

‎Lewandowski confirmed the expected ICE presence when asked directly by host Benny Johnson about enforcement actions during the Super Bowl. He emphasized that no public gathering—including the nation’s largest sporting event—would be exempt from immigration enforcement.

‎“There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else,” Lewandowski said. “We will find you and apprehend you and put you in a detention facility and deport you.”

‎The 2026 Super Bowl is currently the only confirmed U.S. appearance for Bad Bunny during his upcoming Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour. Scheduled from December through July 2026, the tour notably excludes any U.S. dates. The Puerto Rican artist shared with I-D magazine last month that the decision to avoid the U.S. was partly due to concerns over potential ICE activity near his concerts.

‎Bad Bunny explained, “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate... But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the U.S. … People from the U.S. could come here to see the show.”

‎Lewandowski, who resumed a role in Trump’s 2024 campaign and has served as an advisor to the Department of Homeland Security, criticized the NFL’s decision to feature Bad Bunny during the Halftime Show. He questioned the choice of artist, referencing Bad Bunny’s remarks and prior touring decisions.

‎“It’s so shameful they’ve decided to pick somebody who seems to hate America so much to represent them at the Halftime Show,” Lewandowski said. “There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people who could be playing at that show.”

‎He reiterated that enforcement would be consistent regardless of the event’s size or profile. “If there are illegal aliens, I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else... We’re going to do enforcement everywhere.”

‎Bad Bunny has previously performed in the United States to large audiences and noted positive experiences connecting with Latino communities across the country. However, his recent comments reflect heightened concern around immigration enforcement, influencing his decision to limit U.S.-based appearances during the upcoming tour cycle.
