‎The 28-year-old K-pop star arrived on stage in a striking butter yellow gown, radiating joy as she accepted the award. During her speech, she expressed gratitude to her collaborator Bruno Mars, sharing with the audience that she planned to call him after stepping off stage.

‎Rosé extended thanks to her team at The Black Label in South Korea and Atlantic Records in the United States, emphasizing the collective effort behind her milestone achievement. The singer then delivered one of the most personal moments of the night, dedicating the award to her 16-year-old self, acknowledging the challenges she overcame on her path to global recognition.

‎“Twelve years later, I dedicate this award to my 16-year-old self who dreamed,” Rosé told the crowd. “And to all those who watched me grow into the artist I am today and placed their dreams in me to make this change. Every single one of you has put me here and now I believe there is no imposter in the world when MTV has given me this award here at the VMAs.”

‎The singer also honored her Blackpink bandmates Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa, as well as producer Teddy Park, co-founder of The Black Label. Switching briefly to Korean, Rosé paid respect to each of them during her speech.

‎In a candid and emotional closing, Rosé acknowledged her therapist, thanking herself for persevering through difficult times. “As my therapist tells me to do everyday, I’d like to thank myself for not giving up even in the toughest of times,” she said, receiving loud cheers from the audience. “Always remember you’ve got you.”
