‎Unlike the original movie, which featured Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz, and Jonathan Hyde, the new Anaconda does not follow the same storyline. Instead, it introduces a comedic yet suspenseful premise centered on a group of friends confronting midlife crises. Together, they set out to remake a film from their youth, only for their adventure to spiral once they venture deep into the jungle.
‎Jack Black takes on the role of Doug, a wedding videographer, while Paul Rudd plays Griff, a background actor. They are joined by Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, Daniela Melchior, and additional cast members.
‎The project was confirmed last year through a promotional video released on YouTube, where Rudd and Black announced the December 25 release date. Black enthusiastically declared, “We’re making a movie! Paul Rudd and Jack Black star in the Anaconda.”
‎Rudd highlighted the tonal range of the upcoming film, stating that audiences can expect scares, laughs, and moments of heartfelt celebration when the movie arrives in theaters on Christmas Day 2025.
