‎L.A.'s 'Ketamine Queen' Jasveen Sangha to Plead Guilty in Matthew Perry Death Case

‎The U.S. Department of Justice announced that Jasveen Sangha, known as Los Angeles’ “ketamine queen,” will plead guilty to five federal criminal charges connected to the October 2023 death of Friends star Matthew Perry.

‎Sangha, 42, was charged with maintaining a drug-involved premises, three counts of distributing ketamine, and one count of distributing ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury. Federal prosecutors confirmed that nine other charges originally filed against her were dropped as part of the plea deal.

‎She was arrested in August 2024 and has been held in federal custody since. Court filings state Sangha, a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom, sold ketamine, cocaine, methamphetamine, and other drugs from her North Hollywood apartment.
‎
‎Matthew Perry was found unresponsive on October 28, 2023, at his Pacific Palisades home. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner determined his cause of death as the “acute effects of ketamine.” His assistant discovered his body in a hot tub and was later charged as part of the same investigation.
‎
‎Following an extensive probe, five people faced charges linked to Perry’s death: Sangha, Perry’s personal assistant, two physicians, and a lower-level dealer. All five have since agreed to plea deals that reduced the original charges.
‎
‎Court documents detail how Sangha learned of Perry’s struggles with substance abuse and actively pursued him as a client. She provided samples through a physician and Perry’s assistant before sending two shipments of 25 vials of ketamine. One of those vials contained the drug that contributed to Perry’s death.
‎
‎Prosecutors also noted that Sangha will admit to distributing ketamine that caused the fatal overdose of another individual, Cody McLaury, in August 2019.
‎
‎Her sentencing is expected in the coming weeks, and she faces a potential maximum prison term of 45 years.
