International R&B star Chris Brown has been formally charged by the Metropolitan Police Service in connection with a violent incident at a London nightclub in 2023.
‎According to an official press release issued Thursday, Brown, 36, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, a serious offense under UK law. The charge relates to an assault which reportedly took place at a venue in Hanover Square in London, on Sunday, 19 February 2023.”
‎Reports of Brown’s arrest began circulating Thursday after police apprehended a 36-year-old man at Manchester’s Lowry Hotel. While police initially withheld the suspect’s identity, it has now been confirmed as Brown.
‎The alleged victim has not been publicly identified, and police have not disclosed further details on the extent of the injuries.
‎Chris Brown and his legal team have yet to issue a public statement. Repeated inquiries to his representatives have gone unanswered as of this report.
‎The arrest comes just weeks ahead of the launch of Brown’s highly promoted Breezy Bowl XX stadium tour, which celebrates 20 years of his career. It is unclear at this time whether legal proceedings will affect the tour schedule.
