Kanye West drops new song 'Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine' featuring Diddy, North West, King Combs, and Jasmine William
On Saturday, Kanye West released his latest track titled "Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine," a song that includes features from Sean "Diddy" Combs, his son King Combs, West’s daughter North West, and Chicago artist Jasmine William. The over four-minute-long track was shared by the controversial rapper on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

In the post, West described the song as a collaboration that brings together an eclectic mix of family and music industry figures, writing: “LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE new song by PUFF DADDY feat. His son KING COMBS my daughter NORTH WEST and new Yeezy artist from Chicago Jasmine William.”
The song opens with a recording of a phone conversation between West and Diddy, which sets the emotional tone of the track. In the conversation, a voice believed to be Diddy expresses gratitude to West for looking after his children, saying, “I wanna just thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man... Ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call them.” West responds, “Absolutely, I love you so much, man. You raised me. Even when I ain’t know you, know what I’m saying?”
One notable feature in the song is a rap by North West, where she expresses self-confidence and life’s purpose: “Doing everything I wanted, that’s the key to life / When you see me shining, then you see the light.”
Additionally, TMZ reported that West shared screenshots of a text exchange with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, which were later deleted. The conversation allegedly shows Kardashian telling West that she had trademarked their daughter’s name in an attempt to prevent the song’s release. According to Kardashian’s message, the trademark was intended to protect North from being involved in the song. “One person has to trademark!” Kardashian reportedly wrote, to which West responded with a forceful message: “Amend it or I’m going to war. And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”
This legal dispute comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding Diddy, who was indicted on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution in September of last year. Despite the serious allegations, Diddy has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial, set to begin in May. West has previously shown support for Diddy, publicly calling for his release from jail. The two artists have collaborated in the past, further deepening their professional ties.
West, who has been a polarizing figure in recent years due to his controversial statements and actions, continues to push boundaries with his music, provoking both admiration and criticism.
