Lady Gaga to appear in 'Wednesday' season 2

Lady Gaga will feature in the upcoming second season of Netflix's Wednesday.

The Oscar and Grammy winner will appear in the Netflix blockbuster, which is now in production in Ireland. For the time being, no information about Gaga's role has been revealed.

Lady Gaga has a tangential relationship with Wednesday already: A remix of her song "Bloody Mary" layered on Wednesday's (Jenna Ortega) season one dance sequence went viral on TikTok and other social media platforms following the show's 2022 debut.

Gaga will be one of many new faces in season two, which also stars Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor as series regulars, as well as Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O'Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo in guest roles.

Lady Gaga is fresh off of Joker: Folie a Deux. Her television and film credits include A Star Is Born, for which she won an Oscar for best original song and was nominated for best actress; House of Gucci; and two seasons of FX's American Horror Story.

In September, Netflix released a brief behind-the-scenes film of season two production, which concluded with Ortega remarking in voice-over, "If we showed you any more, your eyes would bleed, and I'm not that generous." Along with Ortega, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Fred Armisen, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo are slated to return as Wednesday continues her education at Nevermore Academy.

Wednesday's first season is presently Netflix's most successful English-language TV series to date, based on views (total viewing hours divided by running time) during its first 13 weeks of availability. Season one was executive produced by Al Gough and Miles Millar (creators and showrunners), Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Gail Berman, Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman, Tommy Harper, Kevin Lafferty, and Kevin Miserocchi. Burton directed four episodes. Ortega is a producer for season two.
