Donald Trump says 'I hate Taylor Swift' after pop star endorses Kamala Harris

Donald Trump has announced his dislike for Taylor Swift after she endorsed Kamala Harris in the November presidential race.

On Sunday, the former president and Republican nominee posted on his Truth Social website, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"

Swift expressed her support for Harris and running mate Tim Walz five days ago, just after the vice president challenged Trump.

The musician, who is 34 years old, stated on Instagram, "I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election," added, "I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos."

Liz Cheney, a former congresswoman and frequent Trump political opponent, summed up the common reaction to Sunday's post by recalling the title of a Swift song and commenting on X: "Says the smallest man who ever lived."

Meanwhile, Swift urged her followers to vote as she accepted the Video of the Year award at MTV's Video Music Awards presentation in Elmont, New York, on Wednesday evening.

"If you are over 18, please register to vote for something else that's very important … [the] presidential election," she told the crowd.

Though Trump now claims to despise Swift, it wasn't long ago that he evidently desired her endorsement. He shared pictures created by artificial intelligence that implied Swift had endorsed Trump for president in August.

One photo depicted Swift costumed as Uncle Sam, with the caption, "Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump."

The former president also shared deepfakes of young women sporting "Swifties for Trump" shirts on his Truth Social Account, commenting, "I accept!"

Swift stated that Trump's posts influenced her choice to make her endorsement.

"It really heightened my fears about AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation," she remarked on Instagram. "It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter."
